Embroidered on deep blue wool, Saint Michael appears with outstretched golden wings, his figure rendered in radiant gold, blue and white thread. The calm, watchful presence of Kyiv’s patron saint transforms the coat into an image of protection and contemplation.
Created in Kyiv in March 2022, as the artist waited in the city, St. Michelle holds a moment of protection within a lasting emblem of resilience, faith and the enduring spirit of Kyiv.
