Carved from Zimbabwean Springstone, the sculpture expresses a moment of upward motion — a figure caught between grounding and flight.
The lower section retains the raw texture of the stone, anchoring the form in its natural origin, while the polished upper body rises in smooth, reflective planes. Arms extend outward and upward, suggesting release, expansion, and self-realisation.
The sweeping form at the back evokes a wing or wind-filled mantle, amplifying the sense of lift. Through the contrast of texture and refinement, the work speaks of transformation — the quiet strength required to rise from within.
