A vibrant still life, Take Your Time transforms a simple arrangement of flowers into an exuberant celebration of colour and abundance. A generous bouquet of pink and crimson blooms rises from a glass vase, set against a richly painted interior of deep brown, burgundy, and fiery orange. The vivid palette gives the composition an almost sensual warmth, while the delicate pinks of the flowers create a striking contrast with the intensity of the surrounding space.
Broad, expressive brushstrokes, thick impasto, visible drips, and scraped passages give the painting a raw, tactile energy. The flowers remain recognisable while their forms are loosened and fragmented by the vigorous handling of paint, allowing colour and gesture to become as important as the subject itself. The result is an intimate yet exuberant still life, capturing the pleasure of pausing to appreciate an ordinary, beautiful moment.
