Where Did It All Go Wrong places a solitary female figure within a turbulent, fragmented environment. Her presence is unmistakable, yet the world around her seems to break apart into layers of red, ochre, blue, and muted grey, creating the impression of a moment when something familiar has suddenly become difficult to recognise.
The figure’s introspective expression and contained posture stand in striking contrast to the restless energy of the surrounding paint. Thick, gestural strokes, scraped surfaces, drips, and unfinished passages make the background feel almost unstable, as though it were reflecting an inner state rather than describing a physical place. The title turns this ambiguous encounter into a deeply personal question — not necessarily about one particular event, but about the moment when we begin to look back and wonder where, exactly, everything changed.
