A richly textured figurative composition, “Changing” depicts a solitary figure immersed in an intimate changing scene. Muted sage green, warm ochre, copper, charcoal, and touches of turquoise form a restrained yet expressive palette, while the figure emerges from a dense interplay of colour and gestural marks.
Broad, energetic brushstrokes, scraped passages, and layered paint give the surface a tactile, almost raw quality. Thick white brushstrokes and darker accents create depth and contrast, while the fragmented treatment of the figure and surroundings blurs the boundary between representation and abstraction. The familiar domestic setting is transformed through colour, texture, and expressive gesture into a study of intimacy, stillness, and fleeting solitude.
