Chulindra Catch the Fire Bird
This is a hand-embroidered wool coat designed by Yulia Malanina and made in Ukraine (2025), inspired by Maria Prymachenko. The piece reflects the Folk Modern style, blending traditional Ukrainian embroidery with a contemporary silhouette.
Crafted from deep red wool, the coat features tonal stitching that reinterprets Prymachenko’s folkloric motifs — abstract shapes suggesting wings and flames. Its cocoon-like form combines softness with structure, creating a sense of quiet strength and elegance.
The design captures the essence of Folk Modern: honoring heritage through handcraft while expressing a refined, modern aesthetic.
